Leslie Howard, geboren am 3. April 1893 in Forest Hill, London, England, war ein britischer Theater- und Filmschauspieler sowie Regisseur. Er wurde auch unter dem Namen Leslie Howard Steiner bekannt. Für seine Arbeit erhielt er eine Volpi Cup for Best Actor und einen Stern auf dem Hollywood Walk of Fame; außerdem wurde er zweimal für den Oscar als bester Hauptdarsteller nominiert. Zu seinen bekanntesten Filmen gehören „Vom Winde verweht“ und „Of Human Bondage“. Howard starb am 1. Juni 1943 in der Biskaya.
